The Story Behind the Name

My name is Dionne Hackett. For years my life has revolved around practices, tournaments, road trips, game schedules, bleachers, gyms, stadiums, and sidelines. As a sports mom, I have seen firsthand that every athlete's journey is supported by an entire world of people — mothers, fathers, grandparents, coaches, teammates, families, and communities who show up again and again.

I created the name HerGameDays because I believed there should be a place that captured the full experience surrounding girls and women in sports. Not just the game. The journey. The sacrifice. The pride. The memories. The community.

Life became busy raising six children, working, and supporting my family, so I never had the time to fully build what I envisioned. But I always believed the name had meaning, value, and possibility.
